Weipa’s Hibberd Library is designed to meet the unique needs of the Weipa community. As well as being a place where books are read, borrowed and enjoyed, the library fulfills a wider role in the community.
Residents and visitors to Weipa are welcome to join the Library, and can choose from a collection of titles, spanning popular fiction, classic literature, leisure, lifestyle and personal development.
Titles are available in a variety of formats, including books, large print books, magazines, DVDs and audio books. Language, literature and Bookclub sets can be requested from the State Library.
Electronic resources such as ebooks, downloadable audio books, information databases and music are all available for Rural Libraries in Queensland (RLQ) members via the online catalogue.
The Hibberd Library also provides public computers with internet access, as well as printing, scanning and faxing facilities. If you have emails to send or word processing to do, you can do it here.
