Face Masks are now Mandatory
To protect the health of Queenslanders, from 12am AEST 12 January 2021 wearing of a face mask will be mandatory in particular settings anywhere in Queensland. If you remove your face mask for an appropriate reason, you must put it back on as soon as practicable.
You must carry a face mask while in a Queensland airport and wear it at all times.
You must wear a face mask at all times if you are on a domestic commercial flight while the plane is at a Queensland airport and in Queensland airspace.
This means at the Weipa Airport, masks must be worn prior to entering the departure terminal, in the arrivals building, at the baggage collection point and in all garden areas of the airport. Masks may only be removed upon entry to the car park.
Please note other states have similar rules in place regarding the wearing of face masks on planes.
